True Success

The Bible tells us many different times and in many different ways to pray. This is the single most important way to communicate with our God. This is also the single most unpopular thing for us to do as Christ followers. We figure we leave all the praying to our Pastors and Priests. When in fact it was and is designed for all of us to do. But we men, being the task-oriented creatures we are, need a good reason to pray. I bet most of you will stop reading this article because prayer is not a big part of your life and quite frankly is boring to you.


I have started prayer groups for churches and have seen the amazing things God does in peoples’ lives through prayer, not to mention my own. So, what do you think God finds important enough for us to pray about? He wants us to pray about areas in our lives he sees as vital for SUCCESS. So do yourselves a favor and print off the Scriptures I am about to share with you today so you can start a fruitful prayer life with Christ. They are at the heart of Christ and will guide you through the ups and downs of life. When you use God's word when speaking to him it is an extremely powerful tool.

So pray often:

· for your enemies and those who persecute or mistreat you

(Matthew 5:44) : “ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

· for strength not to fall into temptation
(Matthew 26:41)
“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

· for reconnected relationships
(Romans 1:10)
“ in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by Gods will the way may be opened for me to restore my relationships with others.”

· that you are rescued from unbelievers
(Romans 15:31)
“Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers and that my service to them be acceptable to the Lord.”

* that your heart will be enlightened to the hope in God’s promises
(Ephesians 1:18)
“ I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance.”

· that you’ll be strengthened by the Holy Spirit
(Ephesians 3:16)
“He (Jesus) would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”

· that you’ll be rooted and established in love
(Ephesians 3:17)
“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love – may have power.”

* that you’ll be given words to fearlessly and clearly share the gospel

(Ephesians 6:19)
“Pray for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given so that I will fearlessly make known the gospel.”

· that God would count you worthy of your calling and would help you fulfill every good purpose he has given you
( 2 Thessalonians 1:11)
“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.”

* that you will actively share faith and have a full understanding of every good

thing in Jesus
(Philemon 1:6)
“ I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”

· that you have a clear conscience
(Hebrews 13:18)
“Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.”

· when you have sickness
(James 5:13-14)
“Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

· to confess sin
(James 5:16)
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.



Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read these Scriptures. It was a personal journey of mine over the last couple of weeks in searching out what exactly God wants me to pray about. These Scriptures I shared with you are from Christ’s exact words as well as his Apostle Paul in the New Testament. In the past I have shared with many people that the Bible is not meant to be a book of do’s and don’ts, but a book on how to get through this painful life and find a joy that can only be given to us by our heavenly Father. So keep your heads up!!!

Lord, never let me forget to pray, and pray often.
